              Lissa Kenney, LCSW                                               Rachel Schiller, LCSW

Lissa Hunsicker Kenney, LCSW and Rachel Schiller, LCSW met in graduate school and have maintained a close working relationship over the past 15 years. Lissa Hunsicker Kenney, LCSW is the developer of Feelings School, which she created over the course of her career with children and families. Building on her experience as a child therapist in a partial hospitalization program and her subsequent training in multiple evidence-based trauma treatments for children and adults, Lissa has used both cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment therapy, and play therapy principles to develop her unique and creative approach to short-term treatment for children.

In 2018, Rachel Schiller, LCSW, joined Lissa in expanding and continuing to develop Feelings School. Rachel brings significant experience to her work with children and families. She is trained in multiple evidence-based treatments and is a Master Trainer at the Yale Child Study Center in a treatment called the Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention. In addition, Rachel is a clinical consultant at Safe Horizon (the nation’s largest victim’s assistance agency) where she provides training and supervision to therapists working with children, adults, and families who have experienced abuse.

The warmth, enthusiasm, sense of humor, and experience with children that both Lissa and Rachel bring to their work create safe spaces for the full expression of thoughts and feelings.

Mary Castillejos, LCSW

In addition to an MSW, Mary holds a master’s degree in Infant & Parent Development from Bank Street Graduate School and has received extensive post-graduate training on early childhood and maternal mental health.

Parenting a young child can bring great delight and satisfaction, and also present isolation, bewilderment and depression. Mary aims to help parents & children increase joy in their connection, reduce challenging behaviors, get more sleep, navigate power struggles, and find healing after a traumatic experience.

Her office is in Park Slope, Brooklyn, but during this time all sessions are tele-health only.

Lisa Ruesch, LCSW

Lisa practices with warmth and curiosity; she loves to play. She has worked with infants, toddlers, children, and families of all races, economic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identifications addressing issues such as developmental delays, anxiety, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, depression, and trauma. 

Lisa has six years of post-graduate education that includes advanced training in evidence-based and trauma-informed therapeutic models. She has provided clinical supervision and training to therapists working with toddlers and children with autism spectrum disorder and developmental disorders.

Lisa’s practice draws upon the analytic rigor and diligence that she used in her previous career as an attorney.
